[open] Independent groups within one experiment

edited May 2015 in OpenSesame

Dear all,

May I ask you to help me make independent groups (loops) within one experiment sequence? For example, I'd like the procedure to run only group A (loop A) for the 1st experiment, only group B for the 2nd one and etc? Do I need to make 2 OS procedures or it can be done within one?

Many thanks in advance for a quick reply and sorry if the question has already been discussed here.

    Hi Sara,

One of OpenSesames default variables is called subject_parity. It has the value 0, if the subject_no is even and 1 if it is odd. All you need to do is writing your experiment with the two sequences and add in the run if field: [subject_parity]=1 or [subject_parity]=0.

I hope this helps. Let us know if you need more information.

    Eduard
