[open] can't match a keyboard response to my stimulus

edited November 2015 in OpenSesame

well, in my pilot experiment i have two different types of stimuli. A circle and a square and on every one of them u can perform two different types of tasks- size and shape(to decide whether the shape is square or a circle or big or small) i succeed to present the stimulus in a randomize order but when i try to match for every one of them the buttons to click on them, i want also the stimuli to be changed at the moment that i click the response. that's why i wrote at the 'duration' line-keypress but it doesn't response to it immediately, what seems to be the problem. here are some photos of my design:

    Hi mr. Wiseguy the third,

You said you want the stimuli to change upon receiving a response; this would mean that the sketchpad for the changed stimuli should be somewhere after the keyboard_response item - (or do you mean you want to go to the next trial after the response?).

Further, you have 2 different types of tasks, but do people have to do both in every trial? Right now it seems to be the case, unless you changed the run-if statement for these items in the sequence they are placed in.

If in every trial only 1 response needs to be given (either to the shape or to the size), I suggest altering the structure a bit. You would need only one keyboard response item, with 4 allowed responses. Similarly, in the loop you would need only one correct_response variable. You would then also add the variable task, with the values shape and size.

    Cheers,

    Josh
