[solved] Changing name of output file in the script?

Hi,

when I start up an experiment, OpenSesame asks me what subject number to use and which file to save to. It makes a suggestion: if I chose "0" as an answer to the first question, it suggests "subject-0.csv" as an answer to the second.

I was wondering whether I could do one of two things:

  • change the name of the output file in an inline_script placed at the very beginning to add an additional string to the name (e.g., "subject-0-[string].csv"), or
  • change the "suggestion" to include a [string] that is dependent on the name of the experiment

Thanks!

    Hi Florian,

I'm not sure about the second option but you could place an inline_script at the very beginning of your experiment that closes and re-opens the logfile under a different or more extensive filename.

    Hi Laurent,

awesome! I haven't had a chance to test this on the tablet but this is exactly what I was looking for. Cheers!
