[open] When Using canvas in OpenSeseame, what is the central coordinate(x,y value) of the screen.

edited February 2016 in OpenSesame

Hi Guys.

I want display fixation dots around central points with some amount of distance.
But I could not find what is exact central coordinate of the screen.
It seems like somewhere x=500~600 y=300~400
Or is it depend on what kind of monitor that I am using?
Then, how can I find it?

Thanks

    Hi Seo,

It depends on which version of Opensesame you are running. In OS 3.0.x, it is quite simple. Here, the middle is always (0,0) (unless the option Uniform coordinates is disabled). In older versions of Opensesame (2.9.x and older), the center of the canvas depends on the size of the window you are using. Nevertheless, finding the center is rather easy with the commands canvas.xcenter() and canvas.ycenter(), see here.

    I hope this helps.
