Video files not allowing an experiment to run
Hi there!
I work in a research lab where I programmed an experiment using OpenSesame that is used in two sites for a clinical trial (my own site here in NY and another in Miami). This experiment has two video files built in that are utilized for a mood induction before the trials begin. This computer task has worked perfectly on the study computers at my site (we use one main computer for data collection but I've tried it on others and it works fine), but there are errors popping up at the Miami site. Essentially, OpenSesame won't allow them to run the experiment at all and an error message appears. A screenshot of the error is attached below. Does anyone have any guidance as to what might be going on and how to fix it? I'm not sure why there's the discrepancy and since the experiment works on other computers it leads me to think it's something with the OpenSesame file they have or their computer settings. I'd be happy to provide more information if that's necessary or to describe anything in more detail.
Thanks in advance for the guidance!
Best,

Hi TJ,
This appears to be an error related to your sound device or driver. I assume this somehow has to do with how you have audio playback set up on the machine that shows this problem (or does it have a sound card at all?)
Does the movie play if you set
Play audiotono?Hi Daniel,
Thanks for the response. I figured that was it and was able to instruct my coworker. It was pretty obvious but I wasn't the one who was working with the issue directly, so that made it difficult. I appreciate the help!
