  Do you want to just present the text stimuli (and audio stimuli in part 1) to participants in the same order without recording any response?

  Use text display to present the text and sampler for audio, put a button that says "Listen to the audio". Once participant clicks on it, the program will advance and play the audio.

  This is a pretty simple stuff. Did you look at the tutorials?

  Hi,
  I was trying to run the experiment where in i want the participants to move to Question 2 after answering question 1.the responses are textual answers ... something like explanations .So i have to use all the keys for recording their response, except one key (END).
  I want to use the "END" key in such a way that when it is pressed , it will log the response to answer 1 and move to question 2 automatically . But when I am running the experiment i see a screen that does not even have an OK button in the end, that can be edited to meet my needs...so I am not able to find a way out..

  Hi,

  Do you want to switch the Question1 to Question2 by pressing the assigned key (end key)?
  If so, you can add the keyboard response item to the end of Question1, assigning just one key you want to use for the switch. Otherwise, you can assign the key in the last question of Question1 by using inline_script.

  If it doesn't make sense, as a simple way, why not add sketchpad and keyboard response item to the end of Question1 for just a switching screen (e.g., next Question2...)?

  I am not sure you need a keyboard response item. You are using a form_text_input, you just need to add an OK or Next button (I use Next), set return_accepts=no so if they type something and press enter wanting to go to next line of text the experiment will not advance, and add an Ok or Next button. See the example text below

  After this, add a logger item that logs response1 variable (plus other stuff that you need)

  Hi Hike,
  Thanks for the previous reply. I am facing another issue during execution of the above script in form text input..... Even though "Next" button is appearing, it's not accepting mouse click. Do we have to add a mouse response separately for that.... the screen shots of script and execution window is attached.

  You need to enter something and then click Next. I just tested it on a windows 10 system and it works.
  Do you have something coming after it? Try testing only this form in a new experiment.

  hi,
  Couple more doubts. I am a novice in this....so many many doubts
  based on the last solution script given to me i had made slight modifications. The new problem i am facing is that in the form input participants might have to use enter (return) key to move to next line . I am not able to use enter key that way. Moreover mouse click on " click here to submit the answer is not working even after adding widgets corresponding to that (images attached)

  The next is a more important question,
  Will I not be able to use opensesame in experiments that has manipulation of time in minutes. Say, i have 5 questions to my participants presented as form text input item I might want to give participants 5 to 10 min for answering each of them. Will i not be able to use open sesame for such experiments?

  hi,
  I need help for another issue too. I need to display a running down clock which shows the remaining time in a form text input. I am able to create a running down clock on a canvas. Is it possible to add this 'canvas with clock' as a widget on 'form text input'? Also, the inline script for clock should run independent of the 'form text'. i.e, the clock should not be within the loop that collect the keyboard response. I need something sort of threading. Is it possible to run the form text and clock simultaneously and update it on 'form text'?

  About using Enter key for next line, I think it is design feature, so there is nothing you can do. Instruct participants to keep typing without going to next line (text wraps by itself.)

  Next button is not working as you have some extra features that might not be compatible with that widget (not sure though). If you just use 'widget 0 3 2 1 button text=Next' can you advance?

  Time is set with 'set timeout' you have it set to infinity.

  The rest of the question would be better addressed if you post them as separate questions. They are more complicated and are not directly connected with your original issues with form inputs.

  Also, your work cannot rely on this forum. People volunteer here and have not obligations towards you and your work!
