How do I show a question and get response without need to press a key?

I want to show a question (using sketchpad) with no time limit and then enable the user to answer (keyboard).
I put the keyboard response after the sketchpad but then I need first to press a key so that it will move to the "keyboard response" part and then to press the correct answer.
If I change the sketchpad to have limited time it will move automatically but I want the question to appear on the screen until the user press the answer.
What should I do?

  • Hi Noa,

As long as there is no other visual information (sketchpad or whatever) in between your question and the keyboard_response, the solution is to set the duration of your sketchpad to 0. Then you will keep on seeing your question, but the keyboard_response took already over and will wait for a response.

  • Thank you so much Eduard!

(and now I also recall seeing this example at the tutorial... )

[BTW is there a way to remove such a dummy question..?]

  • Hi Noa,

You're welcome. Not sure whether users can delete questions. I could, but I think even "dummy" questions are useful. At least if people use the search function.
