Simple question: Why does JASP display only 1 decimal precision when displaying means?

Comments

  • I used an example data set and it used 4 decimal precision. Can you send a screenshot?

  • Hi Metaphid,

My guess is that JASP is trying to be smart, and it assesses from the absolute size of the numbers what the number of decimal points should be. Maybe the number of decimal points should be an option. I'll add it to the to-do list.

    Cheers,

  • That would be great. Thanks.

  • I am facing a similar issue in my descriptive statistics-- the means and SDs all come out with 1 decimal place and I'd like it to be at least 2 dps. Just wanted to check if this issue has been resolved. Are we able to alter the number of dps yet? Thank you! :)

  • Hmm I think we have been focusing on other improvements (new version coming out soon). This is actually more of an issue for our GitHub pages -- perhaps you can post the issue there? This way the programmers will see it and can take the appropriate action.

    Cheers,
    E.J.

  • Hi there, Has this been resolved? I train my students to round all numbers to the second decimal point, and it would be helpful if JASP did the same!

  • Yes, this should be resolved. You can set the preference for the number of decimal points in Preferences. See attached screenshot.
    Cheers,
    E.J.
