Hi Osmose, See here: http://forum.cogsci.nl/index.php?p=/discussion/comment/10340/#Comment_10340 Best, Jarik

Hi, So instead of: resp, position, time = my_mouse.get_click(timeout=5000) You want to use: var.resp, var.position, var.time = my_mouse.get_click(timeout=5000) (Quote) These variables are coming from some other part of your experiment. Best, Jar…

Hi Osmose, When you save variables in the var object they are saved in your output by the logger item. So var.resp etc. should work (assuming you have a logger item somewhere after that in your sequence). Best, Jarik

Hi, Maybe this helps: http://forum.cogsci.nl/index.php?p=/discussion/comment/7157/#Comment_7157 You can also find a lot of info by searching for "No closing quotation" on this forum. Best, Jarik

Hi S_H, You will have to do some programming. Below is proof-of-concept example with a list 6 instead of 100 items. It saves the second part of the list that you could use for the second session. from random import shufflet6 = '[1,2,3,4,5,6]'print…

Using Command-Option-Esc to Force Quit the OpenSesame application on a Mac might be helpfull. This prevent the need to reboot your system but it doesn't solve the problem. Best, Jarik

Hi, Maybe using a feedback item also helps (for future experiments): http://osdoc.cogsci.nl/3.1/manual/stimuli/visual Best, Jarik

Hi zsc, You can do some formatting using just one textline in a sketchpad by using html subset for instance. But I agree it can be challenging. I know a project where instructions where changing so much they wrote them in their favourite text edito…

Hi zsc, Think you will either have to use a Custom Form or maybe it is even easier to just use a Sketchpad. Best, Jarik

Hi Clem, You want to change a1 to b1 and a2 to b2. See screenshot below: (Image) Note I used print to print to the Debug window to debug your code. Best, Jarik

You can copy the code in an inline item that follows a sketchpad item for example. This sketchpad item can have a duration of 0 milliseconds so it advances to your inline code immediately. You can use the sketchpad item to present instructions like …

Using items['loop1'].live_row = 0 I got it working. But be careful this is not documented and I don't know what will happen to the randomization (when your loop order is random) for example. This might also be informative: * http://osdoc.cogsci.nl…

Hi Amihai, Maybe searching the forum for "keyup" helps. Best, Jarik

Hi rrr, My guess would be this will only work when one uses all SRreseach stuff (i.e. using Experiment Builder). Possibly you could create the images yourself using the code from the link below, but you will also have the challenge of "syncin…

Hi Olivier, Thank you for your polite and detailed question (this makes me more willing to try to answer it :) ). If you use the inline below I think it should work. Note I changed the button_1 and button_2 lines and the if statements and removed…

Hi guipru, You can't use a variable named var as var is the name of the variable object. * http://osdoc.cogsci.nl/3.1/manual/variables/#using-variables-in-python So you could use and inline with var.somename='yes' and a Run if with [somename]='ye…

Hi all, We figured it out. Roelof was using os.chdir('[some path]') which caused the resource 'widgets\gray\box-checked.png' not found error in OpenSesame 2.9.7. Using f.write([some path and filename]) and not using os.chdir('[some path]') solved …

Hi Mario, Thanks for sharing! For completeness, I was mistaking in my previous post. Where PyGaze uses a single-PC setup when selecting EyeTribe as tracker type for example, it does use a dual-PC setup when selecting EyeLink. Best, Jarik
-
Hi Mario, I think you're right. As far as I know PyGaze always uses a single-PC setup. I don't know how to solve your problem other then programming everything yourself using the SMI API. But I guess thats a big challenging project on its own :| …

Hi cletess, Thanks for sharing! Using video in an experiment can be (always is) very challenging. The website www.videohelp.com can be informative. And the tool XMedia Recode could be handy to convert all videos to the same format. Best, Jarik

Hi Christophe, Possibly buying the cheapest USB sound card you can find, might easily solve your problem. Best, Jarik

Hi Michel, Maybe this helps: http://forum.cogsci.nl/index.php?p=/discussion/comment/7750/#Comment_7750 Best, Jarik

Hi Neon, Thank for your detailed and clear question. I think putting both animals and colours in a separate column of the same loop item and then doing a shuffle on one of them, should do the job. http://osdoc.cogsci.nl/3.1/manual/structure/loop/…

Hi Michel, Maybe this helps: http://forum.cogsci.nl/index.php?p=/discussion/comment/8770/#Comment_8770 You can use Windows task manager to monitor memory like here: https://github.com/smathot/OpenSesame/issues/413 Best, Jarik

Hi sangydog, Maybe I misunderstand your (first) question, but possibly adding an empty sketchpad with duration 0ms at the end of the sequence helps. For some more info see: http://osdoc.cogsci.nl/3.1/manual/prepare-run Best, Jarik

(Quote) I thought so. This is why I provided a link to the beginner tutorial in my first post (Quote) This is the normal behavior (as the image is selected at run-time so it can't be displayed) It's a very good idea to create a simple experiment t…

So if I use 'Full-factorial design' to create an example table, it looks like the image below. Note the two empty selected blue cells. (Image) When I click OK the loop item is filled like the image below. Note there are no empty cells! Does th…

Hello rrr, It's hard to say with so little detail. But your loop item is fully filled like figure 8 below? http://osdoc.cogsci.nl/3.1/tutorials/beginner/#FigStep3 Best, Jarik

Hi rrr, Did you use the 'Full-factorial design' button in the loop item? See: * http://osdoc.cogsci.nl/3.1/tutorials/beginner/#step-3-fill-the-block-loop-with-independent-variables Best, Jarik
