Hi Jules, That is difficult to say without additional information. There should be a file on the tablet called opensesame-debug.txt probably on the /sdcard/ location that can tell you more about the cause of the crash. If you could post it here we …

Hi clb! These inconsistencies could have multiple causes: * It can be back-end related. Try for example switching to xpyriment if you haven't already done so. * It can be caused by the stimuli not making the refresh deadline in time. Try setting…

Hi Samantha, (Quote) The 20 (which is in ms) sets the timeout duration to collect a mouseclick. I used this arbitrary number because the documentation uses it. (Quote) That's a good idea but make sure to check how it behaves with the self.sleep(SS…

Hi Samantha, It is difficult to say what causes the problem in your script due to the formatting but one of the options could be to place (parts of) the script within a while-loop. These loops run until a certain condition has been met, then you ca…

Hi Elena, In that case you can obtain a major part of the design with the GUI only. You can change the order of the trials from 'sequential' to 'random' in every loop item in the top-right where it says 'order'. The only part that you would need to…

Hi Eda, You could use the break-if section under advanced options in your loop. Here you could state that the loop should exit whenever a certain duration has passed. There are some threads on the forum how to do this, for example here: * http://w…

Hi Nucci, It all depends on how strict your division words / nonwords per block is. If it does not have to be exactly 50/50, you could use the GUI for this design. If it has to be exactly 50/50 the random order function in a loop is not able to do …

Hi Eda, Perhaps the response gets overwritten, have you tried changing the response variable of the multiple choice form? And are you sure that the logger item is in the same sequence as the form?

Hi Olivier, Glad to hear it all works now. After seeing the last file i understand what the problem was. Good luck with your study!

Hi Olivier, Good that you got the first part working! I'm not sure about the remaining issue though: (Quote) What exactly do you mean with 'scales' here? Is it the value in the likert-scale? Or a subset of questions in your questionnaire? I'm as…

Ah, that makes sense why. Glad that you figured it out!

Hi Olivier, Welcome to the forum! (Quote) As far as i know this is not possible using the rating_scale widgets since it is hardcoded into the plug-in. But there are a number of ways to work around that. (Quote) Yes, that is possible by defining t…

Hi Chloe, It looks like you need to declare the variable practice first. The most logical place to do this would be in the practice_loop item. But, if you don't mind me asking, is there a specific reason you want to break the loop with scripting? W…

Hi Nynke, I think it should work if you change the while-loop in a way that it constantly updates the current time within the loop. Now, you only check the timing once at the start of the loop. Try something like this: time_to_respond = 5000start…

Hi Diane, My apologies, i should've checked it before responding. Instead of the local time, i think it measured the time between to points, which is 0:00 if there is only one timestamp. As an alternative you can use this: # Import the time modul…

Hi Timi, Welcome to the forum, a good place to start creating your experiment would be by checking out the tutorials. Anyway, (Quote) That depends on the length of your sentences, with short sentences you could indeed create a different column for…

Hi Eylul, That's difficult to say from a picture alone. Just a tiny bit of additional information will help a lot more. How did you define the balancing? What exactly are you balancing? For now: could it be that the counter-balancing script is pla…

Hi Cogitoss, I'm not sure what the issue is here and it's difficult to derive it from a picture alone. If you provide some more information it's easier to understand the problem. (Quote) Do you have only 7 different stimuli, or are they chosen fro…

Hi Sebastiaan, There are indeed a lot of unnecessary loops and sequences in the unused item bin. The experiment script can be found here.I don't have permission to upload the filepool along with it unfortunately. My best guess is that by merging t…

Hi Diane, If the timing precision does not require subsecond timestamps you could use the datetime module. In order to do so, place an inline_script on every position in your experiment tree where you want to check the time. In the run phase of th…

Hi Pia, The download link can be found here: http://osdoc.cogsci.nl/2.9/ I dont know whether you can run two versions simultaneously, if not, i guess you can always uninstall the 3.X version momentarily.

Hi Pia, If i read it correctly loop only continues when two buttons have been pressed and this is something you don't want? Would it help if you set the duration of the sketchpad on which you present the pictures to 0? Best, Laurent

I just updated too, the sampler / placeholder order now works perfectly fine in my own experiments. The parsing problem still remains, so unfortunately i cannot recreate this experiment. Which is a shame because it looks great!

Hi, I've had this similar bug before, where the first placeholder sketchpad is skipped the first time around. Wasn't this a bug that should be fixed with the most recent version 3.0.7? Maybe you can not reproduce because you have the latest version…

Hi Mikolaj, I think the questionnaire plugin is outdated and therefore not working correctly anymore. It might be better to have a look at forms to create a rating scale. See: http://osdoc.cogsci.nl/forms/ for more info

Hi Sofia, It looks like you placed the widget on a row that does not exist (the 4th). with set rows "4;1;4" you have only created three rows, with the first and last four time as big as the middle one. If you try set rows "1;1;1;1&q…

Hi Guido, I've tried merging scripts but realized it's much easier just to copy-paste from one experiment to another. To my knowledge there is no alternative like drag and drop between experiments, but let me know if you find one :) Laurent

Hi, I just wanted to add that you could use both options. As far as i know the touch_response item also works on your laptop, so you don't need a tablet or sorts. There is a checkbox to show the cursor within the item. If you create a sketchpad it…

Hi Darvid, Have you tried manually adding the variable to the logger? Or perhaps there is another variable called 'response' in your experiment that overwrites it, so maybe renaming the variable could be an option? Other than that, it might be an i…

(Quote) I don't think there is a direct way to do this no. You could decide to create the form with an inline_script instead of the custom_form item and manually obtain the timestamps. This thread has it written down better than i could. (Quote) Ye…
