Median and mode calculation in an ordinal variable in JASP
Is there any way to calculate both the mode and median in an ordinal variable as of now?
As a student I am new to the field of statistics, and I am wondering whether this is possible. I have a dataset with ordinal values, and I found that the median is only calculated by JASP when setting the variable as a scale. As per my limited understanding, the mode can be better estimated in some complicated way which I do not understand in a scale variable, resulting in differing result than when I have my variable as ordinal. I've found a bug report on github about this, but I do not understand why the median is not calculated in an ordinal variable. Is this an issue on my end, should I change some setting somewhere?
