[solved] Randomise pairings of IV

edited August 2014 in OpenSesame

Hi everyone,

Firstly, thanks for OpenSesame! It's a great program.

But, I have a bit of a problem, and I can think myself out of it.

Essentially, what I'll be looking at is having one of 80 primes shown on the screen in a random order, followed by one of 80 pictures, also shown on the screen in a random order. This then repeats 80 times. The pairing of the prime to the picture should be randomised, so I don't think I can have both IVs in the same loop. But both the primes and the pictures should only be repeated once in the block.

Any help would be appreciated!

    Worked it out I think!
For those who stumble across this, and want a solution...

I used inline script at the beginning of the block (outside of the loop) to define a list of the file names for the pictures.

Then I used inline script after the presentation of the prime to select and delete an item from the list. That item's then returned as a variable.

    Hope it helps someone else!
