[open] Video reaction task
I'm new to OpenSesame and trying to create an experiment in which I show videoclips of traffic situations to the participants. The participants are required to press a button as soon as they've detected a hazardous situation on the road. Each participant will look at 20 different clips. i'm able to play the video and collect responses. However, everytime someone presses a button the videoclip stops. I want to play each video clip until the end before I give participants feedback regarding their reaction time and score. Also is it possible to give feedback when participants generate multiple responses (keyboard presses) and give feedback of each individual response?
Thanks

Hey,
Welcome in the Forum!
The easiest solution for your questions that I can think of (not necessarily the best), requires some inline scripting. So, you can obtain the desired effect, if you show your video and set its duration to "0". In doing so, the
sequencewill also proceed with the next item, while the video is still playing. Next, you can add aninline_scriptafter the video player, which contains a big while loop. As a criterion to break out of the loop you can sample the time and check whether the difference of the current time and the starting time of the video is bigger than the duration of the video. If so, you break the loop, if not you continue looping.Within the loop, you don't need much else than sampling key presses. Here, you can easily count them, or prepare feedback. Once the while loop (and therefore the video) is over, you can start presenting the feedback. If you want to present earlier, while the video is still playing, I don't think you can use visual feedback. Instead you could play different kinds of sound?
I hope this was helpful. If you have more question, please let us know.
