Implementation of Self Assessment Manikin in Open Sesame
in OpenSesame
Hi
I am planning data collection using Self Assessment Manikin by which the responses are collected on three measures of Valance, Arousal and Dominance, each one from 0-9.
I am just wondering if someone else has prepared a program for this? If not, is it possible to implement this in the OpenSesame.
The sample picture of the tasks is in the following link:

Thanks in advance.

Hi Masoud,
Certainly people have already implemented various scales in OpenSesame (e.g. http://forum.cogsci.nl/index.php?p=/discussion/345/solved-likert-scale-trouble) although I'm not sure whether the self-assessment manikin has already been implemented.
It should be possible though. If you've got some experience with OpenSesame, you'll know how to present images (such as our manikin depicted from sad to happy) and how to collect a mouse response. Based on the coordinates of the response you can retrieve on which manikin participants clicked - or in other words, you can translate the coordinates of the mouse response into a 0-9 scale.
I don't know if you need more detailed instructions? If so, let us know.
Cheers,
Josh
Dear Josh,
Many thanks. I will keep trying and will back if more help is needed.
