Gif and still graphic input into OpenSesame

Please excuse me if this has been covered before but is there a way to:
Create a line up of several still images into one presentation followed by a second line up with moving gif style images. I am trying to set up an experiment that will test both memory recall and response times between the two types of images commonly used in web pages? I believe still images may be used in Opensesame but am unsure if gif images? I am also unsure how they are added into an experiment!
Any help at all would be really appreciated!
Many thanks,
Dusty

  • Hi Dusty,

The former line up with still images is ofcourse possible, but i don't think a .gif file will be presented in OpenSesame as it would be on a webpage (a rapid serie of frames). Alternatively, you might resort to video files or present individual frames very rapidly. But i can imagine both are not exactly what you are aiming for.

  • Laurent,

Thanks for the feedback and sorry I didn't respond sooner! I ended up using .avi files which will happily play in version 3.1.6. I decided, following your feedback to video moving images embedded in a simulated web page to meet my needs!

    Thanks again for the feedback!

    Dusty
