show text input as being typed

Dear all,

In my study, participants see a question and they are asked to type their answer below. I would like them to be able to see their response appearing below the question as they are typing it.

I tried using text input forms to achieve that, but they are very slow. Is there a way to replace these forms with something quicker?

Hi Jarik,

Jarek here Thank you for your reply - both solutions work. Changing the backend to legacy makes the whole experiment faster, so it also helps with the typing fluency in text input forms. However, as you point out in the manual, this leads to some loss of temporal precision.

So perhaps the best solution is the inline script you use in the attached experiment.
