Response Times

Hi I have video trials of different lengths as my stimuli. I am recording response times as the moment the person hits the spacebar during a trial. When I look at the data the response times add onto the previous trial so the numbers which are extremely high continue getting larger as you count more and more trials. I am just wondering how I interpret this data. Do I have to subtract or is it recording the differences somehow?

  • Hi,

Which variable are you looking at? Can you share a log file? The keyboard item returns multiple variables, the timestamp of when a key was pressed (these variables just get bigger and bigger over time), but also a response time, which takes the time since opening the response item and hitting the key. This is the one you would want to look at.
