Voice recorder Time REsponse

Hello, i am currently creating an experiment and I need to record the answer of my participant (vocal answer). however, the sound recording is recording the complete experiment, i can't seem to be able to put the sound record in the loop. But this forbids me to calculate the time of vocal response since the record is of the complete experiment. anyone has any knowledge or can help me plz? Thank you"
