The variable [correct]
I am new to python and Opensesame. I am confused on how the [correct] variable works. This might be a result that I have not understood the prepare phase.
My problem is as follows:
I have done everything as instructed in the tutorial for gaze cue experiment. Yet when I insert a debug_scetchpad after the logger to see what the program logs, i get undefined

You are exactly right. Understand the logic of prepare/run phases and you understand how [correct] works (a little teaser: it works exactly as I think you think it works). Have you checked this part of the manual? In a nutshell, in a debugsketchpad, [correct] will always be undefined. You'd have to use a feedback item.
