What is the "cluster" oblique rotation option under Factor Analysis in JASP?

I'm familiar with the other rotation options under PCA/Factor in JASP, but I'm unsure what procedure the "cluster" option performs. Is this a version of varclus, by any chance?

I would just run it to see what the output looks like, but every time I try it maxes out the CPU on my computer and I never get any output.....

  • Hi Perdue,

For your rotation, try Orthogonal, then select Varimax. For your output options, slide the hightlight slider to the significant factor loadings based on your sample size so the rotated factors will show only the significant variables. Also set the eigenvalues to eigenvalues above 1. Check also scree plot (under plots). I think that would provide you with a better output.

I just joined Jasp and I saw your principal component analysis concern. I hope this helps.
