RM ANOVA with Covariates vs ANCOVA

Hi,

I don't understand the difference between two different types of analyses in JASP.

I need to run a Repeated Measure ANCOVA, but I looks like Jasp does not have this option. I then ran a "normal" ANCOVA and calculated the Marginal Means that I'm interested in. I then ran with the same data a RM ANOVA inserting my covariate variable in the Covariates section of the RM ANOVA. The estimated means that I get in this case are completely different (and implausible considering the data) from those I get from the "normal" ANCOVA.

I was wondering if someone could explain to be the difference in the two analyses and which one is the most appropriate in this case.

Thank you all

  • Hello irepet,

I think it would help if you showed the results for a specific example, this would make the discussion more concrete.

    Cheers,
