Starting get_response and sampler simultaneously

Hi,

I am quite new to OpenSesame and Mousetrap and encountered a problem I cannot get my head around.

In my experiment I want participants to decide between two categories while listening to a sound. That is, their mouse response should be recorded as soon as the sound starts (and not only afterwards).

So far, no matter what I tried, the mouse cursor only turned visible after the entire sound was played, i.e. mouse movements which occurred during the sound were not recorded.

Is there any solution for this?

Hi,

I think it should work if you put the items in the following order:

1. sampler item (with duration value set to 0)
2. sketchpad item (with duration value set to 0)
3. mousetrap response item

The duration of the sketchpad item was 0 already, all I had to change was the duration of the sampler item.
