Run ANOVA in JASP with dependent variable (latent variable) formed by 3 items

Hello,

I am analysing public acceptance of drones for different scenarios. I also want to control for sociodemographics and want to do an ANOVA or Kruskal Wallis Tests. I know how to opearte it, but I dont know how I can form my dependent variable by adding items to one latent varibale. I meaure acceptance on a 3 Likert scale and I want to combine this into one dependent variable. Is that possible or how can i do that?

Thanks guys

  • Hi Carlo,

The simplest way to combine the items is to compute a sum score. You can either do this in Excel (or Calc for instance) or, in JASP, you can use our "compute column" functionality. The JASP website offers help: go to https://jasp-stats.org/how-to-use-jasp/, and search for "compute columns" (toward the end)

    Cheers,

    E.J.
