Flash when watching videos

Hello everyone,

I face a problem when I watch my experiment. When I launch an inserted video, there is flash (I’m working with MacOS but it is also present in Windows). It seems like a sketchpad of a few milliseconds, of the colour of the background of the experiment. It is very short but it is noticeable and disturb the experiment (the idea is to go from a picture to a video without noticing it). Maybe it is due to the loading of the video? I haven’t succeed in removing it. Have you ever met this problem? If you have, have you found a solution to remove it, or at least make it less noticeable?

Thanks!

  • Hi ClemPichon,

This is indeed possible, but hard to prevent in light of how the video player works. OpenSesame first 'empties' the frame on which the video is drawn, otherwise the video area is drawn of the contents of the previous slide, which remain visible. I currently have no other idea on how to solve that problem without first drawing an empty frame.
