"Cannot allocate vector of size 3.1 Gb" on Repeated M. ANOVA

Hello,

I'm a 3d year grade student in psychology and I'm using JASP to process the results of the research I'm leading.

I'd like to make an Repeated Measures ANOVA between 3 IV. The problem is that I get an error message when trying to process them: "Cannot allocate vector of size 3.1Gb".

I'd like to have a way to "boost" JASP so it could use more than this RAM. Excel is kinda bad for this and I don't wanna have to calculate everything at hand.

I really hope someone can help me/that it's possible to get past this.

Best regards,

PILLOT César.

  • Hi Baba,

How much memory (RAM) does your computer have, and is your task manager showing you are running at 100% RAM? Such an error message is thrown by R whenever it cannot obtain enough RAM for its objects.

I have seen this error before with very big data sets, but unfortunately this cannot be fixed from within JASP. I will ask our developers if they happen to know more about this. You can try to close other processes on your computer that are using a lot of RAM, but I am not sure if this will fix your issue.

    Cheers,

    Johnny
