Domain for HTTPS

I'm intersted in securing my data using HTTPS.

Will using a free domain with a platform like Freenom be enough?

Hi,

I have no experience with Freenom. I'm just surprised that they offer domains for free - usually this costs money (but not a lot). I found this question on Quora about their legitimacy: https://www.quora.com/Is-Freenom-a-fraudulent-company-I-registered-free-ccTLD-ga-and-tk-domain-names-and-within-a-few-2-3-days-all-of-the-domains-were-taken-away-and-marked-as-Fraud-without-any-explanation

But to answer your question: any domain name is fine, from Freenom or any other registrar.

Btw. sometimes you get a (quite cryptic) domain name delivered with your cloud server. I know this at least from AWS.
