Simple slopes output for moderation analyses

Hi,

I'm looking for simple slopes analyses that compares groups and cannot find it in JASP.

I have two IVs (both binary), predicting either a continuous or binary DV. I can run the moderation just fine, by entering it as an interaction term in either a linear or logistic regression. But it doesn't give me the statistic as to how much each group differs to each other.

The closest is the estimates in fixed linear modelling but this is insufficient. In SPSS I would use the PROCESS macro, model 1.

Please help!

Many thanks

  • Hi @new2jasp,

Thanks for your discussion. I have three points to share with you.

    1. The simple slope analysis is conducted when you are keen on investigating a significant interaction between two continuous predictors. However, you have two binary (that is, categorical) predictors, so the simple slope analysis might not be what you need.
    2. Conditional on that you are interested in performing simple slope analysis, this functionality is currently unavailable in the linear/logistic regression options. Still, you can perform it in the Mixed Models option. That being said, the Mixed Models option uses the estimated marginal means and you can specify how many standard deviations above and below the mean of the corresponding continuous predictor are. After that, you can check contrasts to see the differences. JASP has a plan to add this functionality to the regression option!
    3. Concerning the statistic, it seems like the contrast estimate is what you are looking for to examine the differences.

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers,
