Experiment keeps running
Dear all,
i also had a problem with a practice experiment. Here the picture presentation does not stop, but i selected repeat only one time in the loop item. The programm keeps showing pictures again from the start and i can not close the window. Im sorry, i am really new to programming and don´t know what to do. I´m thankful for every tip!
Cheers

Hi @LenaJablonowski ,
Could you upload your experiment here, by clicking the paperclip icon below? I'm sure we can find out what causes the issue.

Dear Lotje,
thank you so much for your help!
The Experiment "Versuch_1" is the one which can be started, but won´t stop or log the answers on the multiple choice form. The Experiment "Empra2020" is the one which can not be started, because of invalid variable names. I really appreciate your help!
Cheers

Ah sorry @lvanderlinden
Hi @lvanderlinden,
i tried to finish the experiment with inserting a keyboard response and setting the "break if" section in the loop to
[response] = spacek as decribed here (https://forum.cogsci.nl/discussion/808/solved-correct-usage-of-break-if-field-in-a-loop-item), but then it said the variable response would not exist?I would really like to see if my log sheet looks different and logs the correct answers if the experiment is able to finish. I honestly don´t know what the mistake is, the experiment setup looks like in the tutorial an like other examples from the forum:/
Cheers,
Lena
Hi Lena,
I have to admit that I haven't read the entire discussion, so I might be entirely wrong. Anyway, regarding what you say here:
inserting a keyboard response and setting the "break if" section in the loop to
[response] = spaceUnless you have two keyboard responses, the reason for that error is probably because the variable response is only created with that keyboard response item, so you can only use it for items that follow the keyboard response item. Do you know what I mean?
If this is not the problem, then my apologies! If I find some time tomorrow, I can also have a look on your other issues.

Dear @LenaJablonowski
Thanks for uploading your experiments. I cleaned up your script. Instead of using separate
sketchpadsfor every trial in your block loop, you could simply usevariables, by using the square-bracket method, to determine which item to show on yoursketchpad. You can see how I implemented this by looking at thescriptof your sketchpad:The variable "jpg_filename" is defined in the block loop.
Similarly, I used the square-bracket method in order to determine the duration of the sketchpad. I defined this variable in the experimental loop.
I hope the modified version gives the desired behaviour.
Cheers,
Lotje
