[open] File doesn't open on Mac

edited November 2013 in OpenSesame

I made an experiment on Windows computer, but need to run it on a mac computer (OS X 10.6.8). I downloaded the appropriate version, but the windows-made experiment does not work. (OpenSesame however does work). When I'm trying to open the file on Mac it converts it to a zipped file, which can be unzipped. However, the experiment file is not present in the folder anymore.

    Hi Kevin,

Could you try opening the original file from within OpenSesame? I.e.: start OpenSesame, go to File, then click 'Open', browse to your experiment file and select it.

OpenSesame's files (if you've opted for including a file pool, even if this is empty) are in a .opensesame.tar.gz format. tar.gz files are actually archives (similar to .zip's), which are recognized as such by most operating systems. Hence the accidental unarchiving of your file, when your tried to open it on your Mac.

    Good luck!
