Problems with multiple covariates

Hi everyone!

I'm using JASP for bayesian inference, but I have a problem when adding covariates to the ANCOVA.

The software seems to stall when adding more than 1 covariate. I am able to run the statistics when using the covariates separately.

Does anyone have any idea what could cause this problem

Thanks in advance!

  • I'll ask

    E.J.

  • How many covariates & Fixed factors do you have? And are you using JASP 0.14.1?

Something like this works for me without any problems in JASP 0.14.1:

Could you send me a screenshot of how many predictors you have? If there are many predictors it's possible that the computations take a long time.

  • Hi again,

    Thank you for your reply.

    I am using version 0.14

For this analysis I use 4 fixed factors and would like to have 2 covariates included

  • If you go to "model" then you'll see that JASP adds all interactions effects between the fixed factors by default:

However, that might be a bit overdoing it for your situation. If you click the select the bottom interaction effect, scroll up, and then hold shift + click on the first interaction effect you can remove these. After that, the analysis should proceed much more quickly.

Let me know if that helps!
