Transfer Data to a New Jatos Instance?

Hello,

Our IT department wants to move our Jatos instance to a new server. Is there a way to move the recorded data along with the experiments? Any help would be appreciated

Best,

Zach

  • Hi Zach!

Yes, there is. It's similar to updating a server.

You have to move the folders

    • study_assets_root
    • result_uploads
    • study_logs

By default they are all in the folder where you installed JATOS. But their location can be configured in JATOS - so you might have put them somewhere else.

Then with the database it depends on if you are using H2 (embedded) or MySQL. With H2 you just have to move the folder called database which is also in the JATOS installation folder. But before moving the H2 database folder you must turn off JATOS or otherwise you can corrupt it. With MySQL it depends on your setup and I can't say much, but usually a mysqldump does the job.

    Best,

    Kristian
