Spearman's Rho partial correlation

Hi!

I am a student from the University of Tours (France) and I am currently doing my MA thesis on the longitudinal predictors of spelling performance from kindergarten until first grade of primary school. My data being abnormal, I would like to use Spearman's Rho correlations to analyse different variables I am looking at. Notably, I would like to know how to use partial correlations using Spearman's Rho. I saw an option on JASP called "Condition on" which allows to implement partial correlations. Is this the right operation? Are there any specific requirements, regarding the type of data or variables, to use this option ?

Thank you!

Sofia

  • Hi Sofia,

Yes, that is the right operation. Spearman's rho operates on the ranks; it won't work for nominal variables of course.

    Cheers,
