Giving the participant the option click any visual stimuli (images) to see it in larger size

edited April 2021 in OpenSesame

Hi all ,

I will develop an association experiment where a trial will consist of an audio playing, in background, and several (10 perhaps) images in thumbnails. The participant would have to select one or two images that better associate with the audio playing. For that I'd like to give the option to the user to click on any of the thumbnails to open the image in a larger size (like zooming in), the user could analyze better the images this way.

My question is, can I do it with OpenSesame builder?

Thanks in advance! 😁

  • Hi @dqbertuzzi ,

Thanks for your interest in OpenSesame and welcome to the forum! :)

Yes, you can. First question, will you be running your experiment online or locally? If online, things get a bit trickier because not all OpenSesame functionality is supported in OSWeb. It's still possible though.

Did you already do some tutorials? Can you implement your experiment without the zooming function and then upload it here?

    Cheers,

  • Thanks, @lvanderlinden!

My intention is to run the experiment online.

I'm still studying my options, so I didn't do any tutorial yet. I'll try to implement a pilot test though, to share it here.

    Tnx!

  • Ok @dqbertuzzi , good idea! :)
