Single Keypress Go/No-Go
Hi Everybody,
I am performing a Go/No-Go task in Javascript on OpenSesame, that is going to be used on Jatos. In the task the keypress is on the spacebar and my issue is that if the participant continues pressing the spacebar without lifting the finger the task continues to run, I would like to know if it is possible to add sometime, that if the participant continues to press without lifting the finger the task runs as normal and not speeding?
Also, I am having a problem with the key that is used on breaks and instructions, I added a keyboard response console were the key that should be accepted is Enter, but it still acepts the space bar. Does anybody know how to fix that?
Thank you in advance!
Kind Regards,
Adriana

Hi @AdrianaMartins,
I think the issue might be related to something specific in your task or the way to set up objects. I tried out keeping the space bar pressed down in a basic task (attached) and the task only takes on response. I couldn't reproduce the problem you're describing.
Could you provide some more information or upload your task?
Cheers,
Fabrice.
Hi Fabrice,
If you run the task and press the key and don't lift the finger of the key, the task keeps running, like it is a speedrun. I tried to make a video so you could hear and see what I am talking about. I already tried uploading the file here but there is always an error.. code 413.
Thank you for your help Fabrice

Hi @AdrianaMartins,
If you run the task and press the key and don't lift the finger of the key, the task keeps running.
You mean in your task or in that the task I posted above? The latter does not produce that speedrun when I keep the space bar pressed.
The error code 413 you got when trying to post a video is because your video is too large. You'd need to compress it using some video editing software. Alternatively, could you post a short and simplified version of your task so I could take a look and see whether I can spot why keys left down generate many responses?
Cheers,
Fabrice.
