Mouse cursor not showing
Hey All! Just a quick question regarding the mouse response options. I am finding that when the experiment is being run (in either quick run or full screen), that a key press is required to have the cursor shown on the screen.
If no key is pressed, the mouse cursor does not show, nor does it register within the software when a click is made. It's as though the cursor is just sitting in the background of the application (somewhere behind it), and doesn't register within the software. Just wondering if this is a software issue, or a user issue (more likely the latter).
I am using the most up to date version of Opensesame.
Thanks in advance!

Also, should have mentioned that I also have the "visible mouse cursor" checkbox clicked too.

Anyone?
I dont have a screen recorder, so this is the next best thing. Here are the steps recorded by Windows Step Recorder. At the top of the images is a description of my input. Between text screens, you can see that it requires a "User keyboard input" before a "left mouse click" can be made within the window. This error occurs within full screen too.
Hi Bosshard,
Could you upload the experiment? Showing the mouse can be a little tricky. There are several commands out there (e.g. mouse.set_visible, mouse.set_cursor, etc), some of which work, others don't. Have you tried to look for information on the forum? (If I get your experiment and try to see what goes wrong, I would probably end up looking for previous times that I have answered this question, but forget the solution).

Hi Edward,
Thank you so much! that would be greatly appreciated. I've removed the majority of the exp, because it's quite long and consists of about 4 or 5 individual sections. Nevertheless, the issue persists even in the condensed version.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Shannon,
Seems like it you have set the duration of the sketchpad to
keypresswhich means, that you have to press a key to make the sketchpad disappear (before even starting the mouse response item). So, if you set it to0does it work as it should (it does for me!).Eduard
Oh wow. hahaha. What a blunder. Edward, you sir, are a genius. Thanks for fixing this for me! I shall buy you "a coffee" (or two)
:)
Haha great :) Thanks a lot!
