Shapirp-Wilk´s test on the dependent variable in ANOVA assumptions drop-down?

When running an ANOVA (classical) in JASP it would be nice (as a complement to the Q-Q plots) to access the Shapiro-Wilk test from the assumptions drop down menu. Right now my strategy is to open a One-sample t-test to run the analysis on the dependent variable. Any other suggestions?

  • Hi PerPalmgren,

I personally much prefer Q-Q plots for assessing normality, since they are much more informative than a single p-value, but I understand your position. One improvement on your current way of working would be to instead do this in the Descriptives menu, where you can also select a factor variable as the "split by", such that you get separate normality tests per level of your factor.

I will also add the Shapiro-Wilk test on the todo list for the ANOVA, although some other things have priority at the moment.

    Kind regards,

    Johnny
