Pairing Opensesame with Biopac160 (AqcKnowledge)
Hi,
I have seen some discussions on related topics, but I am very not familiar with opensesame and I am not a tech savvy, so I feel like I need more basic advice.
I would like to pair my Biopac160 system (with AqcKnowledge) with Opensesame. I already have the parallel port plugin installed in my opensesame task.
My questions are:
- I am trying to find my parallel port address. When I go to device manager, I seem to only find a COM port (and no LTP). Is it possible that my W10 computer only has serial ports?
- I have put the trigger init at the beginning and I am able to put the plugin "trigger send" wherever I want in my experience. When I want to actually record theses triggers, how do I pair Aqcknowledge with my Opensesame experiment?
Thank you very much,
Félix

Having done some research meanwhile to understand the serial vs parallel port issue, I found this article by Biopac systems (https://www.biopac.com/knowledge-base/interface-with-visual-presentation-programs/). I believe my computer might be new and doesn't have parallel ports. Therefore, I guess my question would rather be how to insert serial port plugins in opensesame to send the triggers to Biopac?
Thanks,
Sorry for the incessant updates, but I found out my Biopac system is connected to my computer via a digital I/O port. From what I understand, this is also a parallel port, however it seems to show as a COM port when I look in device manager on my computer. Does it still work like a parallel port? If so, how can I pair it?
Thanks,
Hi Felix,

Other than that, I don't think i can be of any help here.
