JATOS publishing link

Hi everyone!

I built an experiment with opensesame and now I would like to run it online, so what I basically need is a URL to send to many participants.

I downloaded my Jatos server on my lapotop, and uploaded the test on Jatos server, but if I use the local link of course people which doesnt have jatos cannot see the link.

When I try to acces to Jatos login and upload the experiment by importing here, I see that the day after the link and the test are not exsisting anymore.

How should I make a permanent link with my experiment?

  • Hi @hagovi,

I think that this thread should probably be posted to the JATOS forum rather than here (also look as if you sent two posts with the same question).

From your description, it sounds as if you're trying to run JATOS on your laptop, but to use JATOS to run online studies, you need to install JATOS on a server (not on your laptop, at least unless you use your laptop as a server, connected 24/7 etc., which I doubt you'd want to do, and which would be ill-advised).

Have you checked the JATOS documentation? https://www.jatos.org/Whats-JATOS.html I think reading the documentation will help you.

It contains a section on how to install JATOS on a server. I'd recommend talking to your IT department to get help with this.

To just try out an experiment online, you can use the JATOS Tryout server, but this is just for development tests, not to actually run your study (as the data and experiments get erased every 24 hours): https://www.jatos.org/JATOS-Tryout-Server.html

Finally, if you can't get a server configured with JATOS at your own institution, you could consider using Mindprobe, the JATOS service sponsored by ESCOP. More information here: https://mindprobe.eu/

    Good luck!

    Fabrice.
