Doing path analyses

Hi, I am new to this and just looking for some guidance on what would be the appropriate analysis

I have 2 IVS that were experimental conditions

IV1 (low, high)

IV2 (absent, low, high)

and I am trying to work out if they have an indirect effect on a decision (sentencing - dichotomous) via another dependent variable (persuasion score - continuous score).

I tried mediation but it was not allowing me to go ahead given these kinds of variables and came up with an error page

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks so much

    Hi myounan (@myounan),

The current JASP Mediation Analysis option works if (1) exogenous variables are either binary or continuous and (2) (when it comes to handling missing data) all the endogenous are of scale type. In your case, one of the independent variables (which becomes an exogenous variable) is a categorical variable with three levels. Another thing is that one of your endogenous variables (decision, which is a dependent variable) is not of a scale type (instead, it is binary), which might produce errors in handling missing data (in this case, you can instead choose 'Exclude cases listwise' under 'Missing value handling' in the 'Advanced' Tap).

Just in case, can you also please share your error messages?

    Cheers,

    Ihnwhi
