Collecting the data during blank screen

Hi! I am new to OpenSesame and I want to create an experiment in which the stimulus is presented and then blank screen. I want to collect responses during stimulus presentation and blank screen.

Currently, the structure of the task is blank screen (2500ms), stimuli screen (0ms), keyboard response (timeout 1000ms).

  • Hi @marina1_c,

Your task description is a little short and a little contradictory. You mention that you want to present a stimulus nd then a blank screen, but next you describe your task as presenting a blank screen for 2500ms and then the stimulus...

Assuming that you want to present the stimulus for a certain duration and then some blank screen for a certain duration, and that you want participants to be able to respond during either... the solution will involve some programming on your part.

The following post describes a method (you'll need to make some adjustments based on the specific parameters of your experiment): https://forum.cogsci.nl/discussion/comment/23090#Comment_23090

    Good luck!
