Creating a scale

Hello everyone:)) I have a question regarding the creation of scales using Open Sesame.

I will have to implement the VAS (Visual Analogue Scale) into an experiment created with Open Sesame. However I dont really now hoe to do it.

If anyone has some more experiences in that field I am happy to hear about any suggestions.

Already a big thank you,

Marie

  • Hi Marie,

If you need a Python implementation, you can try to browse the forum. There have been question on VAS before. If you need an online version, I am not so sure, there exists anything like that.

If you need a Python implementation, the idea is essentially to draw one big rectangle (the frame), and an inner somewhat smaller rectangle (the fill). Then, during response collection, the fill of the inner rectangle should be adapted depending on the mouse position (or keyboard or whatever you choose). For that it is handy to use a while loop.

I hope this gets you started, if you get stuck in the process, call back here, and I shall try to be give more specific pointers.

    good luck,

    Eduard
