Mixed Models in JASP

Dear forum users,

I have two questions:

1) How can I test for normality in Linear Mixed Models in JASP? How can I plot the residuals in JASP?

2) I also have count data and want to calculate a GLMM. How can I test for overdispersion? Is there a way to use a negative binomial distribution to calculate the GLMM?

Thanks in advance.

  • Dear omocestus,

    Thank you for the questions,

    1) Unfortunately, you cannot test for normality or plot residuals in LMM in JASP.

    2) Similarly for overdispersion, however, you can fit a negative binomial model with the Bayesian GLMM in JASP.

  • Dear Frantisek,

Thank you very much for your answer. I like the JASP interface and the many possibilities which JASP provides. However, maybe the developers can integrate the mentioned procedures in future JASP versions. This would improve the possibility of analysis considerably.

    All the best

    Daniel

  • Hi Daniel,

Glad you like the interface. Yes, I create a feature request on the JASP GitHub page on your behalf: https://github.com/jasp-stats/jasp-issues/issues/1628.

    Cheers,

    Frantisek
