How to not log certain region of interest
Hello Opensesame!
I would appreciate advice with this from anyone:
I recently used the [new repeat cycle] to define the region of interest as well as the region that should not be responsive to any touches or clicks. Due to this, the experiment may now only proceed to the subsequent trial when the correct region of interest has been selected. But I've also come to realize that after the data is logged, the region of interest that shouldn't be touched (which was repeated by a new repeat cycle) also gets logged in the right answer section of the excel (usually as 0)
I don't need to know whether the region of disinterest was touched... I am wondering why I see them in the correct responses. I have also tried to only log specific variable using the inline script but it is still logging this specific information.
I have attached my study as well- my log variable logs the distractor as well as the black screen region.
Thank you for all your help!!

Hi Marie,
Not sure I understand correctly, but the log file has always the same number of rows for all columns. So, if one variable is defined only one trial for some reason, it will still appear in all other rows (i.e. all other trials), either with some default value (usually None), or if not reset, with the previous value repeated until the end.
In your case, I wouldn't worry. As long as the variable of interest is present and has expected values in it, you can simply ignore the other variables (or exclude them during data analysis)
