Begginers error? No module named tobii_research

I am not a python user. So I simply downloaded portable version, extracted it. Found an example folder, ran the demo and it fails with "ImportError: No module named tobii_research".

What to do next?? and may be i start with wrong files? I just need to run the PyGaze program.

  • Hi,

Could you provide more information on your problem? Could you provide a link to the instruction that you used? Do you use Pygaze standalone or as Opensesame plugin? What eye tracker do you have? Does the problem also occur when you use a dummy mode (simulating a virtual eye tracker)? If not, the problem is related to your eye tracker setup. If yes, then the installation didn't seem to have worked.

  • I downloaded a portable from here.

    http://www.pygaze.org/downloads/

Thats all. Didn't do anything else, because I must work from the box.

The error occurs when i try to lauch the demo from the folder.

  • Hi,

What do you mean with demo? I can't see a demo in the archive. Also which operating system are you running. I think it only works (if at all) on Windows. I still need more information to be able to help. As it sounds, the portable version doesn't seem to come with the Tobii scripts, whether this is intentional or not, I can't tell. If you provide a trace stack of the error, you could isolate the parts of the scripts that are the problem, and make adjustments to prevent Pygaze to look for tobii stuff, but again, without more detailed information I cannot help you.
