The right variable for the response time
In a simple experiment that presents a spoken sentence (recorded) on which participants make grammatically judgement, should one use response_time or average_response_time? The former has 0 which should not exist, but what is the latter? Average over what? Cannot be over all participants, as those are different values for each participant on the same item.

Average variables concern the ensemble of responses collected in across the trials of a loop.
If the response time for a specific response collection in your task comes out as 0, then there must be an error in your task.
