Error message "found deprecated old-style plugin" + unable to run experiment on MacOS 12.6.7

Hello,

I'm currently enrolled in an eye-tracking class where we were tasked to install both OpenSesame and Eye Link. Here's a summary of my progress and the challenge I'm facing:

1. I successfully downloaded OpenSesame for my MacOS version 12.6.7, following the instructions provided here: https://www.sr-research.com/support/thread-52.html
2. Additionally, I obtained the Eye Link Developer Kit to integrate it as an extension into the OpenSesame software. I followed all the steps specified for my MacOS, and the Eyelink icons appeared as expected within OpenSesame. (Instructions followed here: https://www.sr-research.com/support/thread-13.html)
3. To practice, I decided to start with the GazeCuing beginner tutorial. I double-checked each step and attempted to run the experiment. Unfortunately, however, I've been consistently encountering the same error message, which can be found below.

The error messages refer to the files I needed to transfer from the Eye Link Developer Kit (https://www.sr-research.com/support/thread-52.html) to the OpenSesame folders. Interestingly, a friend of mine who went through identical steps on a MacOS system isn't encountering these issues.

Lastly, the GazeCuing experiment doesn't seem to run as expected; it only allows me to execute the "quick run" and displays only the instructions, lacking the actual content of the gaze cuing experiment.

I'm therefore reaching out to seek assistance from the community. Could someone please provide guidance on how to resolve this issue? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Could it be that your friend has a different version of Python? It says here, that Pylink only works with Python 3.10. You have Python 3.11 installed. Other than that it is hard to say what causes yourproblems without further information. You can try to share your experiment here. That might help.
