Reaction times as integer

Good morning everyone,

I ran an experiment in OpenSesame where RTs are an important variable to measure, but the column "average_response_time" in the csv output has integer numbers and no decimal in it. Therefore, a reaction time of, say, 945 ms is shown as: 945166666667. I understand that RTs are defined as integers, but I wonder whether there is a quick way to sort this out. I could do it manually but it would not be time-efficient, also because these integers are not usually of the same length.

Could you please help me?

thank you,

Simone

  • Hi @Sim_trying,

Try opening the csv file in a text editor to see whether the same occurs. I suspect the issue has to do with your regional settings in Windows, which affects how Excel interprets the comma.
