Creating a slider bar response

Thanks so much for this amazing software that I have been using since my PhD about 7 years ago. I have been using it for creating all my experiments. It works really well.

I have a simple question - how to collect responses from a slider bar on a scale from 0-100. The alternative way I could think of is to use a 'form_text_input' to collect the rating by entering the number between 0-100, but I think presenting a slider bar for participants to drag and click would be better for our purposes.

Thanks so much again.

  • Hi Mengzhu,

Have you seen this discussion? There are quite a few slider implementations floating around the forum. Most of them use mouse responses and compute the value on the scale. How about you are giving them a try and see whether what you need is not yet provided by them?

  • Hi Eduard,

Thanks for pointing to the discussion. I have tried the codes and it works well for my purposes (I have attached the programme). I'd like to make a few modifications.

    1) Would it be possible to show the percentage when moving the mouse over the slider bar, and label the two ends as '0' and '100'?

    2) in the text on the page, could it be possible to make 'word' a variable and show the specific word matching the audio stimulus in the same trial?

    3) At the moment, the bar and the text are not in the center of the computer screen. Would it be possible to place them at the exact center of the screen with the text above the bar?

    Thanks so much,

    Mengzhu

  • Hi Mengzhu,

I attach your experiment, slightly adjusted that fixes 1 and 3. 2 is also possible, just use a variable name instead of plain text.

    Hope this helps,

    Eduard
