from keyboard to touch screen responses

Hi there,

I have designed an experiment for linguistic purposes last year. It is built to collect keyboard responses, however, if I am to reach a broader audience, I need to adjust it so it can be run on touch screen devices. Is there a simple alternation I can make

on my existing experiment?

  • Hi @Greg,

You'll need to modify your task to replace all the keyboard oobject by mouse response objects and add in the necessary bits to identify what participants have clcked on (or in your case, touched).

You can find information about the mouse response object here: https://osdoc.cogsci.nl/3.3/manual/response/mouse/

  • Hi again,

touch response works now with the touch response command. however, I need to press Q before touching the screen. (working on a laptop with a touch screen)

  • is there anything wrong in the sequence that requires me to press the Q key?

  • Hi Greg,

Set the duration of the sketchpad to 0. Then there shouldn't be a keypress necessary.
