Bayesian Repeated Measures ANOVA running too slow

edited May 2024 in JASP & BayesFactor

Hello everyone,

I'm completely new to JASP, and I'm using the last version on the website.

Computer : ntel(R) Core(TM) i7-7820HQ CPU @ 2.90GHz  2.90 GHz. 64 bits, processor x64. RAM 32,0 Go

I'm trying to run a bayesian RM-ANOVA with 3 within-subject factors C (2levels), S (3levels), A (5 levels), and 1 between-subject factor E (3 levels).

When I run a RM-ANOVA everyuthing goes well, however I tried to run a bayesian one multiple times but it is always too slow (tried different versions of JASP, uninstalled and reinstalled, reboot computer, another computer...), the last try was 2h ago and still stuck on about 5% of the analysis maybe.

Could anyone help me please!

Thank you in advance

  • Yes, adding the random effects slows the current implementation down by a lot. I would try the Laplace approximation, which should be very fast.
